I also teach strings at Rivermont Collegiate.
Qualifications: I received a Bachelor of Music Education from Wartburg College in Waverly, IA. I have 10 hours on my Masters from Ft. Hays Kansas State University.
Associations: I belong to the ASTA (American String Teachers Association)
Testimonials: Virginia,
I just can't thank you enough for coming to Samie's graduation party! Your presence was the surprise of the party. You really made her day. It reminds me of how much you inspired her in her early music education. I can still remember her just tapping on a drum, wondering why she was playing the drums?, now I get it... And can you believe that all those hours would be the beginning of a career in music education? And we have you in part to thank for her love of all things musical.
I can't find the words to let you know how you inspired her, you were loving and patient ( and with Samie that was most probably trying at times) and yes, she still can talk non stop... But I guess that's part of her charm.
So I just wanted to thank you. we still think of you often, every time I hear a small child just beginning to play, It reminds me of all the times we spend at Griggs with you.
You are truly a great person and a fantastic teacher. So Thank You....
All our love,
Sarah Lange

Dear Virginia,

I wanted to send along a note to say Thank You for what you taught me. Tonight the Muscatine Symphony was featured on "Symphonies of Iowa" on IPTV. I never would have dreaned that I could have been a part of anything like this and here I was 1st Chair, 2nd Violins!
Save for my children, I can't think of ever being more proud of what I've accomplished. I could never have gotten here without the start you gave me.
I hope this finds you well and still teaching because you make a difference. Thank You again!

Dear Virginia,

I had such a wonderful time in Davenport with Kathryn and Pearce, and the highlight of my visit was your recital. It was very precious indeed, and Iloved the way you introduced each student. Your love of teaching is soobvious, as is your students' response to you. I just went to your website, and loved the photos, and all the information that is there. I taught pianofor ten years, and your recital made me very nostalgic. Now I play two piano music with a friend, who is a piano teacher. I havetold her all about your recital, and maybe she'll add some things to herintroductions. I'm so glad I could be there. Best wishes for the next three recitals, and enjoy the spring warmth after a hard winter.
